Global Design Project 110 Christmas In The Making

This week I am participating in the Global Design Project.   And here is the sketch…..


And here is my creation…….I loved this set the first time I opened the Holiday Catalog!!  It takes me back to my childhood with my Mother and Grandmother preparing for Christmas!!  They made the Holidays truly special and full of tradition in our family.
So here is my version of Christmas In The Making….

Isn't she pretty!!  She will make a lovely Christmas card or Holiday thank you!  And coloring and shading her was a breeze!!  Much to my delight our alcohol based markers are back!!   Remember the Blendabilities….well they are New and Improved and are called Stampin’ Blends!  And they are AWESOME!!!    We as demonstrators were able to purchase them early…but they will be available to everyone on November 1st!!  Just in time for Christmas!!

If you check closely I also colored in the Clear Faceted Gem with the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends Marker to make a pretty red gem!  They are permanent ink so it won’t rub off….LOVE IT!!

Alaska Achievers Blog Hop

So the first project I would like to share with you comes from our Christmas Quilt Bundle.  I LOVE quilts!  I wish I could sew them….but the next best thing is make them from pretty paper!! So I made a Framed Christmas Quilt Sampler.  Perfect for home décor and can be kept up year round.

Isn’t he just adorable??  He would be perfect for a quick teachers or coworkers gift along with a darling mug.   Or tuck him in a box of Christmas goodies….that would be a wonderful homemade touch!!



He was created from 3 of our Tiny Treat Clear Plastic Boxes, attached with 4 Glue Dots on each corner!  I added a glove with the fingers cut off to make a cap , tied with our Silver Tinsel Ribbon.  And our striped ribbon makes a perfect scarf.  Too Cute!!

Harvest Blessings

Here is a quick post showcasing the painted Autumn Designer Series Paper.  Every year I look forward to the Autumn DSP that comes out in the Holiday Catalog…..this year is one of the best!!  I love that there are images which can be fussy cut and added to a card or treat.  Here are couple of cards I offered at Stamp a Stack this past weekend…..they were a BIG hit!  (Unfortunately the color in my photo doesn't due it justice!!)


Love my sunflowers…. Check out the Black Rhinestones for the flower centers!!  They are not just for Halloween!!

And don't forget the inside!!




And here are some pumpkins…perfect for an Autumn Birthday!

And speaking of Harvest Blessings…..(the title of my post).  Here is a YUMMMMY snack mix I made for a recent Bingo event I held.  Everyone went home with a bag full of deliciousness!!





Again….I fussy cut the sunflower for the tag.   This is just a few bags….there were 30 of them!!!  Here is the recipe for this Harvest Blessing Mix….it is sooo good…a little sweet…a little salty!!


I use a big blue roaster pan and fill it full with a mix of
Bugles
Chex cereal or Crispix Cereal
Pretzels
and a can of Peanuts
Then in a  medium sauce pan over medium heat mix ..
1 1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
4 tsp of Vanilla
Heat until brown sugar is dissolved completely just to the point of boiling. 
Pour mixture of bugle/cereal/ pretzel / peanut mix until everything is coated.
Bake at 275 degrees for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.  Let completely cool. 
After it is cooled mix in 1 big bag of Candy Corn/ Pumpkins and 1 bag of MM’s or Reese’s Pieces. 
This makes a nice , big, batch!!   Your friends and family will love it!!

Thailand Achiever’s Blog Hop / Holiday Catalog!

Well this is it!!  Our final Thailand Achiever’s Blog Hop.  We enjoyed our lovely trip to Thailand this past July.  And now our Stampin’ Up ! year will begin again Oct 1st.  But don’t worry….This awesome Blog Hop will be continuing in October as the Alaska Achiever’s Blog Hop!!   So welcome to the last Thailand achievers Hop ….it will be great!

For my blog post,we could choose anything from the Holiday Catalog.  What to choose????  There are sooo many wonderful stamps and products.  But I decided to go with a favorite of mine….Painted Harvest.   I love a good sunflower and this one is a beauty!!


This is a super easy, two step stamping set that is very forgiving……just stamp away…no careful lining up!! 

An extra addition I added to make the sunflowers have some texture is to add our new Embossing Paste colored with a chocolate chip reinker!



Just add some paste onto a silcone mat with a paste tool.  (Looks like frosting!!)  Add a couple drops of reinker, mix and place onto the center of the flower.  Easy as that!! It may not show well in pictures….but you have got to try it!!!  It adds wonderful texture to your card!! 





HINT!!   Make sure to wash your mat and tools soon after using, as it does dry quite quickly!

And finally….when I made this card, I found this darling little copper pumpkins at the Dollar Tree. 

So I added a tag with some copper trim.  Wouldn't this be perfect for a Thanksgiving place setting??

In the beginning of August this year….I did several swaps with other Stampin’ Up! Thailand Trip Achievers to get ready for our  awesome Holiday Catalog.  Here is one of the swaps I  made to share with other Stampin’ Up! demonstrators!!
